Hatton Garden Loot Buried in Cemetery

A police helicopter hovered above the cemetery as an armed police convoy escorted the jewel thief to the cemetery where he has hidden his share of the £20m haul.

Danny Jones, 58, one of the Hatton Garden robbers, had complained in a letter to Sky News that his offer to reveal the hiding place had been ignored by Scotland Yard.

Nine People Arrested After Jewellery Robberies

The co-ordinated arrests took place in Wrexham, Flintshire and other areas, after gold from Asian families were targeted in a string of burglaries over the past five months.

More than 100 officers from North Wales Police and others from Cheshire and Greater Manchester police forces were involved.

They searched a total of 18 addresses, with the majority in North Wales.

Officers swooped on a travellers' site in Wrexham, as part of a co-ordinated operation with other properties being entered simultaneously.

Beware of Burglary Symbols

Burglars may be using a range of symbols to determine which homes are worth targeting, residents have been warned.

Conwy council has published the symbols which show images of indicators including whether people were elderly, vulnerable, living alone or considered an "easy target".

Its trading standards will be on patrol to catch those marking houses.

Anyone who sees properties being marked is asked to call police on 101.

Pensioner Targeted in a Terrifying Burglary

A pensioner has been left so terrified by house raid in which he scrambled out of his upstairs bedroom window to get help; in fear, after waking to find two burglars ransacking his bedroom.

The 71-year-old yelled for help from the first floor ledge when the intruders struck in Platt Bridge, Wigan.
